The Laboratory of Urban Criminology of the Panteion University held, on Wednesday 23.11. 2022, at the Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences, the Workshop "Mapping crime and insecurity in the region of the Capital, in the era of economic crisis", in the framework of the Project "UrbanCrime: Spatial aspects of Crime and insecurity in the era of economic crisis: trends, dimensions and correlations" No. Project HFRI-FM17-3898, which was approved and funded by the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation (HFRI) and is being implemented under the scientific responsibility of Professor Christina Zarafonitou, Director of the Laboratory of Urban Criminology.

The Laboratory of Urban Criminology (EAstE) of Panteion University is organising an info day on: Participatory forms of crime prevention at the local level: Security and Freedom, on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at 9.30 am.

The info day is implemented within the framework of the BeSecure - FeelSecure project, and it will be held at the Piraeus Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The 19th annual Conference of the European Society of Criminology about “Convergent roads, bridges and new pathways in Criminology” took place in Ghent in 18-21 September 2019. Within the framework of the conference and more specifically during the special panel session “Trends in space, place and crime, research 2” the postdoctoral researcher Eleni Kontopoulou presented two important empirical studies conducted under the scientific responsibility of the Professor and Director of the Laboratory of Urban Criminology of Panteion University Dr. Christina Zarafonitou. It must be noted that in the aforementioned panel the Working Group “Space, place and crime” of the European Society of Criminology (ESC WORKING GROUP-PLACE) in which the Professor Christina Zarafonitou is a member also participated.
